Construction Materials Testing Technologist

The position involves field testing of soils, concrete, and bituminous pavement. Other responsibilities depending on the individuals experience may include observation of reinforcing steel and masonry construction. Candidates should have the following education/experience, certifications and job skills:

  • Minimum 2 years, post high school technology degree and/or 1 to 3 years of construction materials testing experience.
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification
  • Certified in the use of nuclear moisture /density equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required
  • Willing to work out of town for extended periods of time on long term projects
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (50 to 75 pounds)
  • Have a valid drivers license and good driving record
  • Have a reliable personal vehicle for use during working hours that is  capable of transporting testing equipment to jobsites on a daily basis

  • NETTCP Hot Mix Asphalt Plant Technician
  • NETTCP Hot Mix Asphalt Paving Inspector
  • NETTCP Soils & Aggregate Laboratory Technician
  • NETTCP Soils & Aggregate Inspector

  • NETTCP Concrete Inspector
  • MCTCB Concrete Plant Technician
  • OSHA 10 Hr Construction Safety, OSHA 40 Hr HAZWOPER
  • PCI certifications – Level I and/or II
  • AWS certifications – Certified Welding Inspector
  • ICC certifications - Reinforcing steel, masonry, fireproofing
  • Experience with MTA and or Maine DOT bridge and roadway construction
  • Experience with pile driving and/or rammed aggregate pier observations
  • Current or recently expired Department of Defense security clearance

Accountant/Office Manager

We are seeking a qualified individual for office administration at our corporate headquarters in Saco, Maine.  The position’s primary responsibilities will include accounting and human resources management.  The qualified person will be responsible for ensuring that all information is kept in strict confidence for both employees and company operations according to state, federal and company guidelines.

ACCOUNTANT (80%) – Responsibilities will include corporate bookkeeping processes and controls, client billing, verification of charges, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, payroll, purchasing, budgeting and forecasting, internal audits, journal entries, tax and business license compliance, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, and general administrative support to the office including vendor contract management. 

HUMAN RESOURCES (20%) Responsibilities will include assisting with recruiting, new hires, and termination process including but not limited to coordinating pre-employment background checks, offer letters, new hire paperwork & orientation, and termination paperwork;  maintaining employee files; coordinating probationary and annual review process; coordinating employee safety and education requirements; and coordinating employee benefits administration.

Qualified individuals will possess the following attributes:

  • A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Accounting, or similar field of study.  A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or similar field of study, is preferred.
  • Documented training and demonstrated experience in human resource management and compliance.
  • A minimum of 3 years of business/finance experience, preferably in professional service firm.
  • Experience with Deltek, and migration of accounting software systems a plus.
  • Possess high ethical standards and integrity, as well as maintain good working relationships with all clients, employees, management and executives.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills and leadership ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement process change with an orientation toward continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated professionalism at all times and ability to communicate effectively with clients and all levels of staff, management and executives.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills including WordPerfect, MSWord, Excel, and Outlook.

 

Salary will be commensurate with experience.  Benefits include group healthcare program, life insurance, long-term disability program, access to other supplemental insurance programs, professional development reimbursement program, paid holidays, paid vacation, and sick leave.  A relocation program will not be offered for this position.
